Amarok V6 Is 4WD Victoria's Vehicle Of Choice

Volkswagen's class redefining Amarok V6 Highline ute is the new flagship vehicle of 4WD Victoria, the state's peak off-road organisation.

Wayne Hevey, president of the umbrella body of the state's many four-wheel-drive clubs, accepted the club's new Amarok from Volkswagen Group Australia Managing Director Michael Bartsch during the annual Spirit of Amarok event held at the Melbourne 4x4 Training and Proving Ground near Werribee.

In addition to providing the new Amarok Highline V6 turbo diesel, Volkswagen Group Australia is an ongoing sponsor of 4WD Victoria, which Mr Bartsch praised for its dedication in "providing thousands of owners with best practice, safe and sustainable off-roading experiences".

"Amarok V6 has raised the expectations of ute buyers and fundamentally changed the market," Mr Bartsch said. "As even our four cylinder Amarok Core manuals have shown here on this challenging course - one from which we had to haul out a rival brand ute this week - Volkswagen vehicles are part of this nation's automotive landscape."

The Spirit of Amarok off-road competition, which continues over the weekend, brings together 126 competitors from thousands of entrants nationwide who applied to take part in the challenging off-road trial. Three teams of two members each win the right to represent Australia in the international Spirit of Amarok event to be held in South Africa this August.
