Volkswagen's apprentice-built Amarok V6 has completed a blazing hot lap of Mount Panorama in 2 minutes, 57.24 seconds, piloted by race driver Renato Loberto.
The race-ready uber ute set tongues wagging on the Mountain as it pushed speeds well in excess of 200km/h.
The car, along with the 'standard' V6 Amarok, was on display for fans as part of Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle's sponsorship of the Liqui-Moly Bathurst 12 Hour race recently, which also included the 550Nm-powered ute fulfil duties as the official recovery vehicle for the race.
