The 2020 North American Volkswagen Passat Sketches Revealed

These sketches reveal the 2020 North American Passat.

The 2020MY Passat will be built in Chattanooga, Tennessee starting next year in 2019. This Passat will be revealed at NAIAS in Detriot in January.

The North American media have reported that this Passat will continue to be based on the current NMS platform which relates to the PQ35 Golf family and PQ46 Passat family. Cost versus return on investment and a sluggish sedan market is the reason North American's will not get a MQB based Passat yet.

North Americans should be happy to learn that VWoA are investing instead in the Electric and SUV strategy which is proving so far to be the right call.

The Miller cycle 1.8L TSI engine with 130kW / 280Nm of torque (174hp /207 ft-lb of torque) will power the 2020 Passat.
