From Russia with Love - the next generation Volkswagen Polo is coming in 2020

  • A completely new design with the new Volkswagen logo
  • A wide selection of functional equipment
  • 3 engines to choose from
  • The Volkswagen brand shares the first facts about the new generation of its best-selling Polo.

The new Polo became the first model in Russia with a new Volkswagen logo. The design of the car has changed completely: the body lines are more swift and elegant. Polo has grown significantly: if the dimensions of the previous generation were 4.390x1.699x1.467 cm, now it is 4.483x1.706x1.484 cm. Now Polo is presented in a new liftback body, which expands the possibilities of loading and transporting bulky goods. In addition, the space for rear passengers increased, and the boot volume grew by 90 liters - from the previous 460 to 550 liters.

LED optics are already offered in the starting configuration, and halogen headlights are a thing of the past. Polo is equipped with headlights of reflex or spotlight type, depending on the version. In addition, rear LED lights are now available for the model - there are no more halogen lights either.

The driver’s workplace has also changed significantly. Having maintained excellent ergonomics, Polo offers new solutions in the cabin: the Polo is now equipped with a multimedia system with App-Connect support and a touch screen with a diagonal of 6.5 or 8.25 inches.

Volkswagen Polo in the new version is complemented by an expanded set of functional equipment, which includes a digital dashboard Active Info Display, keyless entry and start engine KESSY, as well as heated rear seats and steering wheel as an option.

Polo will be offered with several engines to choose from: 1.6L naturally aspirated EA211 series engine with either 90hp / 60kW or 110hp / 82kW, and a 1.4L TSI with 125hp / 92kW. Power units with a capacity of 90hp and 110hp are manufactured at a plant in Kaluga and mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. A 110-horsepower engine can also be equipped with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while the 125-horsepower engine is paired with a 7-speed DSG.

For the Russian market, the model will be offered in four versions: Origin, Respect, Status, and Exclusive.

Details of trim levels and pricing will be available later.
