The Nivus will be manufactured at the Anchieta plant, in São Bernardo do Campo (SP), under the Modular Strategy MQB, the most modern production concept of the Volkswagen Group in the world. Following the successful recipe of the Polo, Virtus, and T‑Cross models, the Nivus was developed entirely by Volkswagen South America's team of designers and engineers. What's more, it will be the first model developed locally and which will also be produced and marketed in the European market.
Innovative design - The Nivus exhibits a striking design, with ample emphasis on the smooth fall of the 'C' column, a characteristic typical of coupes and which elevates the model's natural sportiness. His personality gains, even more, striking arguments with the headlights and LED taillights, in addition to the DRL (daytime running light) all in LED, with an unprecedented visual signature on Volkswagen models. The new 17-inch alloy wheels complete the exclusive visual package.
State-of-the-art infotainment - The new infotainment system, fully developed in Brazil, has a first and last name: VW Play. It brings a new high definition screen and several features that will definitely establish a new level in terms of connectivity in the Brazilian market.
Space and versatility - Thanks to the Modular MQB Strategy, the Nivus offers ideal internal space to take the five occupants in total comfort. The more pronounced rear overhang also offers an excellent trunk, with a capacity of up to 415 liters - one of the largest among compact models, both in the hatchback and SUV segment.
Premium technology - Regarding technology, Nivus will be responsible for introducing new safety and comfort features in the compact segment, some items available only in higher segments. One is the ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control), which allows the driver to adjust the speed and the distance he wants to travel in relation to the vehicle ahead. Nivus also innovates with the AEB (Autonomous Emergency Brake), a feature that, when identifying the imminent risk of a frontal collision, brakes the car autonomously, avoiding, in some cases, any data to the vehicle or injury to the driver and passengers. The security package also includes Front Assist, a system that, by means of radar and sensors, monitors traffic and alerts the driver, audibly and visually, to avoid collisions.
LED headlights- Another differential of Nivus is the set of headlights and LED taillights, exclusive in this class of vehicle on the market. It brings a completely new visual identity, adopted for the first time in a Volkswagen model, with LED DRL (daytime running light) in an enveloping format.
Performance and efficiency - At Nivus, performance, and energy efficiency are standard items. Its engine is the renowned 200 TSI three-cylinder, flex-fuel, and with direct fuel injection. This propellant delivers up to 128 hp (94 kW) of maximum power and 20.4 m.kgf of torque when fueled with ethanol. The transmission is automatic six-speed, which combines comfort and low consumption. This mechanical set is the same that is currently very successful among Polo, Virtus, and T ‑ Cross customers.
