An Electric version of the Volkswagen Taos Debuts in China as e-Tharu for the 2021MY

As the title states SAIC Volkswagen has released pre-sales of the electric version of the Taos known as Tharu in China.

The e-Tharu is powered by a 136hp / 100kW electric motor powering the front wheels. This is derived from the Mk7 MQB based e-Golf.

Volkswagen in China already sells MQB electric vehicles (e-Lavida, e-Bora, and e-Golf) ahead of the imminent ID family release all powered by the same drivetrain as the e-Tharu.

It is unlikely this will cross the pond to North or South America but remain a China only Volkswagen.
