SAIC Volkswagen launched the Lamando way back in 2014, it actually was the first Volkswagen brand sedan on Volkswagen's MQB. It subsequently carved a niche as a sports coupe sedan due to its coupesque design as laid out by Marco Pavone (up! & gen 2 Tiguan) current Head of Exterior Design at Volkswagen.
Late last year first photos of the second generation Lamando escaped from Chinese eyes and were made attention to new auto spy media Cochepias. The second generation will carry over the EA211 (could be 'evo' version) TSI as its entry engine and EA888 2.0T as the flagship mated with 7 speed DSG.
Dimensions will match or be similar to the FAW Volkswagen Sagitar 4.7m in length, width of 1.8m height of 1.8m, and wheelbase around 2.7m.
