Mumbai – The all-new Volkswagen Taigun is a bold, dynamic and German engineered SUVW designed and developed for the discerning Indian customers. It’s Volkswagen India’s new addition to the SUV product portfolio and will be competing in the mid-size SUV segment. Built on the indigenized version (MQB A0 IN) of globally renowned MQB (modular transverse matrix) platformof Volkswagen, the Taigun boasts a charismatic design language, the exterior of the SUV exudes strength and confidence, and the interior offers a feeling of space, air and light.

The exterior in detail
The striking front end highlights the vehicle’s family affiliation, while emphasizing individuality with the generous chrome applique on the front grille, keeping in mind the needs of the Indian customer. The new Volkswagen logo sits perfectly between the grille and is one of the first locally manufactured products in India to carry the new logo.
The LED matrix (headlamps with daytime running lights) greet even before the drive starts.They can be individually switched off and dimmed. They are intelligently controlled and can illuminate the road as brightly as possible without dazzling the other road users. Providing a higher stance and on-road presence, the R17 dual tone alloy wheels contribute to the striking appearanceof the Taigun.
“The Taigun has the most distinctive rear within its segment. The width spanning C-shaped continuous LED tail lamp marks a strong rear end design. This superior, sporty character further adds to the overall aesthetics of the Taigun.”, says Mr. Zyciora.
Premium and practical interiors
Anyone who takes a seatin the all-new Volkswagen Taigun will enjoy superior visibility due to the elevated seating position –typical of an SUV. The good all-round visibility also engenders a feeling of safety and confidence in the Taigun occupants. The long wheelbase of 2651mmmakes the interiors extremely roomy and spacious. The flattened tunnel at the rear bench of the Taigun makes the seating position comfortable for the middle occupant.
The Taigun has a modern dashboard layout with décor inserts, smart storage spaces for the young and active consumer, ambient lighting and ventilated leather front seats making the driver and occupant at ease. Adding an element of modernity to the Taigun interior is thedigital cockpit and automatic air-conditioningwith touch control.The 25.4 cm touchscreen Infotainment comes embedded with Apple CarplayTMand Android AutoTM, enabling customers to be connected and entertained.An inductive charging interface (Type C, USB charging ports) will ensure sufficient power for smartphones. The multi-function leather sport steering wheel and electric sunroof further accentuate the Taigun interiors.

Dynamic and efficient powertrain
High performance, low fuel consumption and driving pleasure are the main characteristics of the Taigunpowertrain. The all-new Taigun will be powered by Volkswagenglobally renowned TSI technology. The two engine options available on the Taigun will be 1.0l and 1.5l TSI with a combination of three transmission options for customers to choose.
Safety a top priority
The Taigun comes with a full range of safety features. It will be equipped with up to 6 airbags, ESC, 3 headrests at rear, 3-point seat belts, ISOFIXand adjustable headrest for all. The Taigun boasts excellent driver and occupants protection system with up to 6 airbags, Electronic stability control. SUV also includes the rear park distance control, Hill-hold control and tyre pressure deflation warning system.
