Presenting the almost production-ready ID.6 concept known as ID.AERO. It will be revealed at Auto China in a matter of weeks. This illustration was revealed along with details at Volkswagen's Annual Conference. Ralf Brandstatter stated the ID.AERO will have a range of 700km.
What do I know? Emden is already in full swing for preparation for the production version of the fastback and also the wagon version.
The current Passat and Arteon are in their final years of production in Emden. Passat will move to a Skoda facility and the Arteon will eventually be replaced by ID.6 family for Europe and the Rest of the World markets.
Volkswagen has been testing prototypes of ID.6 in China as well as in Europe. The stiff competition will be in the Chinese market.
What is not known is whether the fastback will be a traditional sedan like the Passat or a liftback like the Arteon. The estimated length will be between 4.8m and 5m in length but have the interior room of a vehicle two classes higher (think Audi A8).
