GRAND CALIFORNIA DUNE
Exclusive colour scheme: The new Grand California Dune is recognisable from the outside by its exclusive paintwork in the colour Ascot Grey – a light chalk shade inspired by the colour palette of the dunes on Europe’s beaches and in Africa’s deserts. Designed in the contrasting colour Black: a decal with DUNE lettering on the left and right side of the roof area. Furthermore, DUNE lettering is located above the windscreen. The design team has also integrated an Ascot Grey compass in California World style into the glossy black foiled surfaces of the side window lines. The anthracite-coloured, robust plastic bumpers and side panelling match the Dune colour scheme. Also visually aligned with the special model and fitted as standard are the high-gloss black 17-inch Lismore alloy wheels. The interaction between the colours and features lends it an all-terrain look. When it comes to technology, the Grand California Dune also delivers on its visual promise: as an option, the special model can be ordered with the 4MOTION permanent all-wheel drive and a differential lock.
Extended standard equipment: The Advanced Assist package, which is usually available as an option, is always standard on board the Dune. It includes Adaptive Cruise Control ACC with Stop & Go function, Travel Assist including Lane Assist and Emergency Assist (assisted lateral and longitudinal guidance across the entire speed range) and predictive speed limiter. Also standard are the LED main headlights with LED daytime running lights, the Rear View reversing camera, electrically adjustable and folding exterior mirrors and the Air Care Climatronic automatic air conditioner. The standard camper van equipment in the Grand California Dune also includes a camping table and two folding camping chairs for the outdoor area as well as coloured, adjustable all-round background lighting between the upper wall units in the living area.
Strong price-performance ratio: The prices of the special model have already been set: the Grand California Dune 600 (6.00 metres long, “crossways sleeper”) will be available with front-wheel drive from 88,964.40 euros and the Grand California Dune 680 (6.80 metres long, “lengthways sleeper”) from 91,885.85 euros. As outlined, the savings are up to 3,623.55 euros1. Both versions are powered by a 120 kW (163 PS) turbodiesel engine, with shifting always carried out by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
New evolutionary stage of the Grand California: All versions of the new Grand California feature a perfected interior. The table top and work surface of the kitchenette are now finished in the new Atami Bamboo decorative trim. The new floor covering (kitchen, dinette, load compartment) also has the same appearance as the surfaces, but is made of hard-wearing PVC. The now black tap in the kitchen has been redesigned – the handles, switches and sockets in the kitchen now also come in elegant matt black to match. Clever solution: the mobile dining table can now also be easily locked in position on the kitchenette as an outdoor table. Also new on board the Grand California are luggage nets in the upper wall units, which make it easier to stow away clothing and items of all kinds. The new optional equipment includes a tailor-made set of thermal mats and blackout set for the windows in the cab.
CALIFORNIA ENERGY
Three new Energy camper vans: In 2024, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles presented the newly developed generation of the California camper van icon at Caravan Salon. In 2025, the California Energy special models will make their debut at the Düsseldorf trade fair. Pre-sales will also kick-off at the same time to coincide with Caravan Salon. The range includes three models: the California Beach Camper Energy, the California Coast Energy and the California Ocean Energy. All three Energy camper vans offer significantly extended standard equipment with big savings at the same time.
California Beach Camper Energy: All California models in this product line have a standard pop-up roof with two sleeping places at the top. The standard version of the Beach Camper is also equipped with a kitchenette and a 230-volt shore power socket. It is located in a permanently installed module in the load compartment. The extended equipment for the special California Beach Camper Energy model includes an awning (mounted on the front passenger side, awning rails on both sides of the vehicle), a camper van auxiliary heater including remote control (plus windscreen de-icing), the Air Care Climatronic 3-zone air conditioning system, a blackout system with roller blinds and thermal mats, Travel Assist (assisted lateral and longitudinal guidance) and the Basic Parking Package (with Park Assist, Park Distance Control at the front and rear and Rear View camera system).
Savings of up to 4,600 euros: In addition, the California Beach Camper Energy’s extended equipment features a Light package. It includes Light Assist main-beam control, dynamic headlight range control, the rain sensor, the poor weather light including cornering light, an automatic anti-dazzle interior mirror and also the automatic daytime running lights with Coming Home and Leaving Home functions. Also on board as standard: proactive occupant protection system, heated front seats and the heated multifunction leather steering wheel with paddles and Energy logo. On the outside, the 17-inch Dundrod alloy wheels in black with a diamond-cut finish add a unique touch to the Beach Camper Energy. The special model is offered at prices from 75,102.09 euros – the savings of the California Beach Camper Energy are up to 4,600 euros.
California Coast Energy and California Ocean Energy: The Coast and Ocean differentiate themselves from the Beach Camper with features such as a fully-fledged kitchenette with wall units as well as individual added equipment. The added equipment for the Coast Energy special model is identical to that for the Beach Camper Energy. The top-of-the-range version of the camper van product line – the California Ocean – features an electro-hydraulic extendable and retractable pop-up roof as standard as “energy” on top. The Ocean Energy is also equipped with IQ.Light LED matrix headlights. In addition to the Light package from the two other California Energy models, two wide-ranging comfort and safety technologies are also implemented here: the dynamic main-beam control Dynamic Light Assist and the dynamic cornering light. Instead of 17-inch alloy wheels, the California Ocean Energy also leaves the VWCV main plant in Hanover with Toshima 18-inch alloy wheels in black.
Prices: The new California Coast Energy special model will be configurable at prices from 83,319.04 euros – with savings of up to 4,480 euros. The top-of-the-range model California Ocean Energy starts at 88,775.19 euros– the savings here are up to 4,570 euros.
